Following circa 15 years’ experience within recruitment, Michelle set out on her own and founded FGS Recruitment in 2008 from her kitchen table. Still very hands on in the business on the sales side, Michelle confesses to not being a natural leader and hands all management duties over to co-founder Billy. A strong theme throughout the company, Michelle enjoys building client relationships and getting a firm understanding of the client’s requirements acting as an extension of their business.

As a mum of two and self-confessed pasta addict, Michelle’s favourite pastime is sleeping and describes napping as the new clubbing.

With a background in finance working initially as a mortgage broker and then working in the city as a financial recruiter, Billy co-founded FGS along with Michelle in 2008 having felt as though he needed something different. Billy would describe his job as entertaining, educational and rewarding and has found a real passion for helping overseas clients spearhead new ventures in the UK.

With Billy’s first job being a pasta maker, it’s no surprise that he is married and has two children with pasta lover, Michelle. Billy loves cooking for his family and watching Rugby in his spare time having declared that he is now too old and fragile to play.

Vanessa joined FGS in June 2013 as the business’s first official employee. Heading up the Learning and Development division, Vanessa loves the pace of recruitment and her favourite thing is building relationships with both clients and candidates and of course telling candidates that they have got the job. Prior to entering the world of recruitment, Vanessa has 15 years learning experience specialising in delivering leadership and management programmes within retail and tourism.

Outside of work, Vanessa loves both cooking and eating food and confesses to having a bookcase full of cookery books and a Sky+ planner loaded with cookery shows. Having dreamt of being a stewardess whilst growing up, Vanessa’s love of travel hasn’t waned and likes to get away at least twice a year.

Dan joined the Digital Media division FGS in January 2014 having fallen out of love with IT recruitment. Dan started out his career as an Electrical Engineer however it wasn’t long before he realised he wasn’t suited to it and turned to sales. Dan describes his job as awesome and enjoys maxing out the expenses budget meeting clients and candidates. Dan is well known in the office for his bad taste in music and love of Peter Andre. Away from his desk Dan plays Rugby for a local team and is a dad to one with a second on the way. Apart from his Rugby commitments, Dan enjoys days out with his family and a roast round mums on a Sunday.

Following 10 years marketing experience, Louise joined FGS in July 2015 as the company’s marketing guru. Her main responsibility is to get the word out about our great services, meaning she’s pretty much glued to the internet; tweeting, facebooking and blogging.

Louise’s love for all things marketing, design and events extends outside of work and she has been known to spend many an evening and weekend building websites and helping couples plan their weddings. Outside the creative world, Louise enjoys spending Friday’s off with her son and weekends with her friends and family.

Everyone has something they wanted to be when they grew up, mine was a banker, until I realised it was not for me! I decided to head down the recruitment route and I haven’t looked back.

Starting in the Financial Recruitment sector I soon realised this sector was not for me, now specialising in Digital Media I am always excited to see what each day brings, speaking to interesting candidates & clients on a day to day basis.

Also into sports, I play football twice a week for a local team, attend the gym and I was also a licenced amateur boxer fighting once every two weeks at shows until I started to focus on making money!

Rebecca (but we call her Becky) joined FGS in 2016 as the third member of our Recruitment Training Academy. Completely career crazy, Rebecca is always reading about new theories and trends in people’s career decisions. This obsession started during her MA in Career Management and after graduating, knew she had found her ideal company with FGS.

A self-confessed Trekkie, Becky likes to unwind in her spare time by exercising her creative side. With a BA (hons) in Music, she loves writing music at weekends, eating all kinds of food and finding new wines to try. In fact, Becky has a dream to try every red wine in the world. Now that’s a challenge!
